Zoom is a video conferencing platform that can be used on a computer or mobile phone. With covid, Zoom has become the most common tool used for video conferencing as it can be free and is considered the easiest for home and small business use. Zoom is now used for business meetings, healthcare consults, webinars and live chats. It can be downloaded on your smartphone as well as your computer. (It’s pretty darn good and leaves you feeling more connected if you can’t meet face to face!)

When running a meeting using Zoom for free, you can:

  • Host up to 100 participants
  • Unlimited group meetings for up to 40 minutes
  • Unlimited one-to-one meetings with a 30-hour time limit per meeting.
  • Private & Group Chat

*It is important to note that if you join a meeting that is hosted by someone with pro, business or enterprise Zoom, you can stay on the meeting for as long as the host allows, even with free Zoom. You are only limited by free Zoom if YOU are the host.

Telehealth

Telehealth is a term used to describe a consult with a healthcare provider that is held via phone or video call.

If the consult is via phone call, the health care provider will call you on your mobile or landline phone number.

If the consult is via video call, it is likely that the healthcare provider will use Zoom. In most cases your healthcare provider will send you a Zoom invite via text message or email and you will join the meeting at the given time. View the above instructions on how to join a meeting.
